Pillar PSR X-TRA 1420 - An inexpensive bladed spoke, great for road and cyclocross riding.

Hook is for road riders who value aerodynamic gains and mostly ride on smoother roads. If you plan to run high pressure, then a hooked/clincher rim is a safe bet.

Hookless is for those who are running wider tires, lower pressures, or are riding on rougher roads. You will benefit from a more comfortable ride due to the higher volume and increased impact protection. Gravel riders and cyclocross riders are often in this situation.

Center Channel Hole This is a required option.

With Access Holes: This is the traditional method. Spoke access holes are drilled in the center channel to allow the nipples to easily be fed through the rim. Tubeless tape is required to seal the rim.

No Access Holes: No spoke access holes are drilled in the center channel. Feeding the nipples through the rim is more challenging, but it allows for a tubeless setup without the need for tape. This kind of system is known as "road tubeless" and was made popular by Mavic. Some companies still refer to it as "UST style", however, UST is actually a specific interface between the tire and rim which was developed by a partnership between Mavic, Michelin, and Hutchinson.

Currently, rims with 'No Access Holes' do not work with our carbon spokes.

Drain Hole This is a required option.

The two small drain holes located 90° to the valve hole effectively help evacuate both the water trapped inside the rim and the air leaking into the rim chamber caused by nonperfect tubeless tape sealing handwork that may risk rim explosure in an aggressive tire inflating.

It is the small reinforced layer prelaminated on the area where the drain hole is drilled later that makes the rim strength fairly ensured without any compromise of weight added.

Riders who ride in wet areas are suggested to order rims with drain holes.

We use a lightweight black alloy anodized valves with an oversized concave collar for easy gripping. A rubber o-ring goes in between the rim and the collar to help seal the rim and match the contour of the rim profile. The valve core is removable so you can add sealant without removing your tire.

Hey, I am a quite heavy sprinter (90 kg) and ride a lot of gravel or cyclocross -> are 24 spokes enough or should I go for 28? Do you offer DT Swiss 350 with 28 Spokes? Since I wash my bike a lot due to dirty conditions, do you include water drainage holes in the rims or are they not necessary? Thanks a lot Matze

Hi Matze, If you ride aggressively, you can go for front 24H/rear 28H. But we only have DT Swiss 240 exp road disc hubs with front 24H/rear 28H in stock. For DT Swiss 350 hubs, we only have front 24H/rear 28H available now. Or we can make rims road disc AR46 with around 50g carbon fiber material added( heavy duty version), then you can choose front 24H/rear 24H. What do you think? Thanks, Lightbicycle

I'm after a set of disc road wheels. These ones look great - 28mm wide, 46 deep, and extremely light. But the description says they're for road, cx and gravel, but "gravel optimised". Does that mean a different set of wheels would be a better choice / faster for road?
