DT Swiss hubs use star ratchets and are available in 4 different models with varying points of engagement.

18T - Deepest teeth, slowest engagement, least amount of maintenance, suitable for powerful riders.

36T - Happy medium, doubles the engagement points.

54T - Super fast engagement, but shallow teeth require more careful re-greasing and the thru-axle should be checked every ride.

24T - Made out of hardened steel as e-bike specific.

EXP 36 - With only a single spring, making the hubs faster and lighter. More precise contact makes a longer lifespan.

Center Channel Hole This is a required option.

With Access Holes: This is the traditional method. Spoke access holes are drilled in the center channel to allow the nipples to easily be fed through the rim. Tubeless tape is required to seal the rim.

No Access Holes: No spoke access holes are drilled in the center channel. Feeding the nipples through the rim is more challenging, but it allows for a tubeless setup without the need for tape. This kind of system is known as "road tubeless" and was made popular by Mavic. Some companies still refer to it as "UST style", however, UST is actually a specific interface between the tire and rim which was developed by a partnership between Mavic, Michelin, and Hutchinson.

Currently, rims with 'No Access Holes' do not work with our carbon spokes.

Drain Hole This is a required option.

The two small drain holes located 90° to the valve hole effectively help evacuate both the water trapped inside the rim and the air leaking into the rim chamber caused by nonperfect tubeless tape sealing handwork that may risk rim explosure in an aggressive tire inflating.

It is the small reinforced layer prelaminated on the area where the drain hole is drilled later that makes the rim strength fairly ensured without any compromise of weight added.

Riders who ride in wet areas are suggested to order rims with drain holes.

We use a lightweight black alloy anodized valves with an oversized concave collar for easy gripping. A rubber o-ring goes in between the rim and the collar to help seal the rim and match the contour of the rim profile. The valve core is removable so you can add sealant without removing your tire.

Overview

The 36mm deep is one of the newest members of our Road/Gravel lineup and the perfect partner for your next adventure. As more drop bar bikes become compatible with multiple wheels sizes, utilize these 650b rims with burly tires when the road gets rough.

Running larger tires brings better bump compliance, greater flat protection, and more grip. With a hooked bead and an internal width of 22mm, the AR36 can run anything from the super low pressures for gravel, right up to high pressure when the ride turns to pavement.

Hi, I have a 3XS Canyon Endurace CF SL 8. I'm looking for a set of 650B wheels and will most like be fitting either 25/28mm tires (Don't do any gravel riding). Do you have any experiences fitting the Falcon AR36 650B onto the Endurace frame and whether there are any issues with that?

Hi Jessie, 1. Normally, the road wheels are with 24H/28H spoke count. 32H is a lot of spokes for disc road wheels, and it adds some weight to the build. I ride a recumbent bike with a 650B in the rear and a 406 in the front. I am working with SMC to have a carbon clincher wheel produced. I am interested in purchasing a single rear wheel from LightBicycle. The wheel that fits my needs is the "Disc 650B gravel wheels 29mm wide 36mm deep tubeless for cyclocross and gravel bikes". The hub spacing is 135mm What would be the pricing for this configuration. Thanks I have not finished the specification of the front wheel and would like many of the components to match. So I can make some changes before I place my order. On the front wheel I specified DT Swiss, with center lock and straight pull spokes in a Matte finish. The front wheel: 406-C30-30 Matte finish Presta valve 100mm Hub DT-Swiss Hub with center disc lock and QR skewers
