Center Channel Hole This is a required option.

With Access Holes: This is the traditional method. Spoke access holes are drilled in the center channel to allow the nipples to easily be fed through the rim. Tubeless tape is required to seal the rim.

No Access Holes: No spoke access holes are drilled in the center channel. Feeding the nipples through the rim is more challenging, but it allows for a tubeless setup without the need for tape. This kind of system is known as "road tubeless" and was made popular by Mavic. Some companies still refer to it as "UST style", however, UST is actually a specific interface between the tire and rim which was developed by a partnership between Mavic, Michelin, and Hutchinson.

Currently, rims with 'No Access Holes' do not work with our carbon spokes.

Drain Hole This is a required option.

The two small drain holes located 90° to the valve hole effectively help evacuate both the water trapped inside the rim and the air leaking into the rim chamber caused by nonperfect tubeless tape sealing handwork that may risk rim explosure in an aggressive tire inflating.

It is the small reinforced layer prelaminated on the area where the drain hole is drilled later that makes the rim strength fairly ensured without any compromise of weight added.

Riders who ride in wet areas are suggested to order rims with drain holes.

We use a lightweight black alloy anodized valves with an oversized concave collar for easy gripping. A rubber o-ring goes in between the rim and the collar to help seal the rim and match the contour of the rim profile. The valve core is removable so you can add sealant without removing your tire.

Ed : I bought a set of Light Bicycle AR56 rims laced to Tune King Kong hubs with Sapim CX-Ray spokes, 24 front, 28 rear in 2019. I weigh ~200lbs and have an FTP that has ranged between 350 and 390W over the past few years. I've now put over 30,000km on the wheels, and the Light Bicycle rims have proved to be bombproof during that time. I have not had to true the wheels since I received them, and despite multiple incidents over the years on the road that have flatted both tires, the rims still look fantastic in the custom gloss 3K finish I selected to match other components on my custom titanium Landyachtz road bike. I have been very impressed with the performance of my Light Bicycle wheels, and have seen no evidence of inferior build quality when compared to other wheels I own and friends own from western brands such as Zipp and ENVE. I have enjoyed my Light Bicycle wheels so much, that I bought my partner a set of AR29 wheels a few years ago when she needed a new set of high-end wheels, and I've also just purchased a set of WG55 wheels for a new gravel bike I'm building. (Last night the snow came in and is now on the ground!) First impressions: I am very impressed with this wheelset! These wheels make a notable and huge difference compared to the (pretty good) alloy wheelset that they replaced and are very competitive against other well-known carbon wheelsets that I have used in the past! It was particularly windy yesterday and due to the 56mm depth the stability in such wind was not so bad! So, so far so good!

But some people find it easier than others. Hi Bill, Thanks for your reaching out!For AR56, they are non pro series. We can not manufacture with paintless finish right now. For paintless(pro finish), it needs different mold material. I am sorry about that. But we will have two new pro models, they are 28mm wide/35mm deep or 45mm deep. Does it work for you? It is okay to manufacture rims with internal nipples holes. If you like internal nipple holes on 700C road rims, you can leave a message on the order. We can see it and double check with you, manufacture accordingly. A few questions: 1. For the US-sourced AR56 rims---do these come with center channel holes? 2. Would it be possible to purchase a global-sourced wheelset in AR56 that are custom made with Shimano Ultegra hubs? HB-RS770 and FH-RS770. Here would be all the specifications for a custom quote: - Shimano Ultegra hubs, 32H for both front and rear - (these hubs are centerlock, 10x100 and 12x142 J-pull) - Sapim CX-Ray Silver spokes 3. Hi John, 1. For AR56 road rims 30mm wide, they are with spoke access holes on rim bed in North American warehouse. If you like rims without spoke access holes, you can place special order. It takes around two days to manufacture for you. 2. Yes, we can build this road disc wheelset with shimano front HB-RS770 12 / 100mm/rear FH-RS770 12 / 142mm road disc hubs. But we do not have silver spokes. Is it black okay for you? 3. Currently, we only have these shimano hubs in global shop not North American.
