Power over Resistance
Dynamo hubs have a reputation for adding resistance and drag, but not the PL-7. When the light is off, the additional drag at 30 km/h is just 1 watt. When the Dynamo is activated to power your lights or other devices, the drag only increases slightly.
Powered by Shutter Precision's advanced PL-7 technology, this hub is highly-efficient, generating the standard 6V3W electrical output required by most cycling Dynamo devices like lamps and converters for USB powered devices. At speeds as low as 15 km/h, the hub achieves an impressive 72% energy conversion efficiency, which means it needs only 4.2 watts to power lights. This efficiency ensures a consistent power supply while minimizing additional effort from the rider.
